Ladies’ Frocks in a Gentleman’s Club

Saturday morning saw a group of us at the Leeds Club – a private members gentlemen’s club in Leeds City Centre – taking advantage of the beautiful setting to shoot some Eliza dresses.  Stepping into the Leeds Club, located on Albion Place in Leeds, is like taking a step back in time to a more genteel time, so of course it should be the perfect setting for another Eliza Wyke/Nicky Chadwick shoot.

Eleanor models the slightly modified silk and tulle dress now renamed the “Eleanor”. Here I make some last minute adjustments before the shoot commences

For once we had an indoor setting (and the weather was fine and warm) and a splendid changing room (which makes a change for the models from laying down in the back of a car or getting changed behind coats!).  Some of the dresses have been photographed before, whilst some are new designs.

Once again Zaira Cantara ( worked her magic to create extra special make up looks.

Gillian Tinney of Dee & Gee Designs ( came along to dress our models in her unique designs of jewellery.

Even my mother decided to take her turn at modelling by wearing a couple of Mother of the Bride outfits (including her own mother of the bride specially designed and made for my wedding last December).

And at the end of the shoot, I decided to try my hand at a spot of modelling, in this my own design peach-skin silk shift… don’t worry I won’t give up the day job!

Designer trying her hand at modelling… perhaps not!
