Anatomy of a dress

One of the most sought after designs is the fit and flare dress.  Given the right cut, it is immensely flattering to all body shapes and sizes.

For many of my customers, commissioning an Eliza dress is their first experience of having a garment / outfit made to measure.

As each garment is individually cut, it’s specifically designed with the wearer and their event in mind.  In this instance, I’ve designed and considered the following:

Knee length dress with circular skirt.  The under-skirt is straight (to avoid a Marilyn moment in the inevitable summer breeze!) and allow the chiffon to move freely
The sweetheart neckline is very popular as it’s flattering to all shapes and sizes. The high neck / broad shoulders allow for bra straps, which makes it popular for larger busted customers
Highlighting the waistline with a little lace applique draws the eye to the most flattering area. This coupled with a slightly higher waistline gives an illusion of slimness
Moving away from my traditional fitted sleeve, I’ve opted for a slightly flared short sleeve to mirror to the movement in the skirt. Sheer sleeves are always popular.

In short this particular dress would be perfect for any occasion from a wedding, to the races, to a summer garden party.  Whatever your event may be, an Eliza design will be tailored to your needs.
